In collaboration with the famous YouTube channel EONS, Creative Beast Studio Kickstarts a line of prehistoric proboscideans. These models will be 1/18 scale and articulated, just like BOTM and Cyberzoic figures. There are five models of four different species planned for the Kickstarter:
- Mammuthus primigenius, the famous woolly mammoth of which extremely well-preserved remains have been unearthed in Siberia and allowed us to know many details of its biology, making it one of the most famous extinct animal. There will be three pairs of interchangeable tusks: male, female and battle damaged.
Here are the three tusk options:
- as seen in the concept art, there will be a young wolly mammouth, too, based on specimens like Dima and Lyuba:
Here they are together:
Exclusively for backers there will be a “snowy” version, too, for a true “ice age” look:
But there’s more, a second version of Mammuthus primigenius, this time in 1:35 scale, like the previous Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops:
- Gomphotherium angustidens, which belongs to one of the most widespread and long-lived proboscidean genera (for more or less fifteen million years in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America!):
- Platybelodon danovi, another regular of popular books thanks to its peculiar shovel tusks. This model was sculpted by paleoartist Max Bellomio, author (among others) of the restorations for the Forgotten Bloodlines documentary.
- And last one of the most primitive proboscideans ever, Moeritherium lyonsi. His appearance did not foreshadow the success that this clade had.
The first stretch goal has been unlocked, too: it’s still Mammuthus primigenius, but in 1/35 scale. It’s a downsized copy of the 1/18 model except for the fact that it will feature just one pair of tusks.
